2009 Winners of the Most Elusive Birds Award

...At least for me, here in the Black Hills area. Maybe this year!!

The Western tanager was by far the hardest bird to capture last year...so disappointing! I saw 3-4 of them in all but this was the only photo I was able to get.

The American goldfinch was almost as elusive...this was the best I could do, from the driver's seat through the passenger side window.

  1. Hi Jann.
Even through the side window that is a great photo of the Goldfinch.

  3. Love the header. The WT is beautiful. I love seeing birds on blogs. Many varieties don't visit my area so photos are as close as I'll come to them.

  4. Love the Am Goldfinch. Such vibrant colours compared to it's non breeding plumage. FAB.

P.S. No snow here at home just rain and more rain but to the north it's a different story!!
