A Snow Poem

"The cold was our pride, the snow was our beauty.
It fell and fell, lacing day and night together in a milky haze,
making everything quieter as it fell, so that winter
seemed to partake of religion in a way no other season did,
hushed, solemn." - Patricia Hampl
It snowed last night, some this morning...about 2-3", and we are shrowded in fog and chill. I took this photo today from the front side of our house. You can just make out the dark line of the eastern edge of the Black Hills in the background. I'm trying to be positive...ok, neutral...so I found the poem above to go with.

  1. The snow this morning was kind of pretty...but it wasn't much fun driving in to work in the slush!
