True Textures Tuesday

I was really thrilled with the great response to my 'patterns and textures' post on Oct. 29th. I'd wanted to do such a post for some time, but didn't think it would go over very well. Wrong! So, I've decided to do a 'textures' post on Tuesdays. Whenever I'm out in the hills (or beyond) w/ my camera, I always enjoy all of the patterns and textures that God has generously sprinkled the earth with, if we just take the time to see and appreciate them. And I keep thinking, thank God for His sense of style and whimsy...

A 'shroom that looks like a thumb-print cookie!

So many rocks out there with nature's freckles...

The jigsaw puzzle pattern of ponderosa pine bark...
I remember being intrigued with this bark as a child during family camping trips...

Thistles having a bad hair day...

A critter's wobbly paw print by a creek...possibly a partial raccoon print...

Imagine all the time and effort it takes a swallow
to build a mud nest...
This one is on the ledge of a canyon wall...

Acorns and their fringed caps...

Prairie coneflowers, their brilliant yellow petals exchanged
for dry hula skirts.

  1. An interesting topic and often hard to record with a camera. The tree bark especially is interesting. Different trees are so unique.
