White-tailed Does

...Going back to my Custer Park visit this past Thursday, I saw several white-tailed does along the wildlife loop. Some were very skittish but some just seemed curious...and more concerned about finding drink or food..

  1. I'm always amazed at the deer that sleep on our hillside in the snow banks...but seeing the deer in your first photo standing in that icy cold water gave me chills...and the 2 deer looking back...have the exact same pose! Your photos remind me...I need some new snow boots!

  2. They are so elegant in a Christmas card setting like this! Not so elegant or attractive when they are eating my tomatoes, or the pumpkins out front or leaving calling cards all over the backyard when they drink the birdbath dry.

  3. I'm really glad I ran across your neat blog. The Black Hills in general and Custer State Park in particular are among my favorite places to camp. We drive out from Minnesota at least once a year and stay at Custer Mountain campground.

  5. Hi Jann

These are beautiful animals...they have a look as if they have been very liberal with the lipstick ...and their tails are like my fluffy duster...

    Happy days

  6. Beautiful animals. It is amazing to me the difference of the body shape between whitetails and mule deer. Wonderful captures of them.
