Hey, Jay!

Naturally, out of about six pics, this was the one that came out the sharpest of this blue jay. You'd think they'd be all over in the Hills, but I rarely see them! And they don't stay still when I do! Anyway, I took a drive into the E foothills Fri., and found this guy bouncing around.

My drive on Fri. also lead me to an area where the stiff sunflower was growing. It was a very blustery day so getting a clear shot was a bit of a challenge (nothing new!) I managed to capture a bee and its blur of wings as it zoomed in on the disk. Click on the pic to enlarge and see!

  1. We have so many jay's here...But they are so dominating, I love to hear them imitate different birds...

  7. Love seeing the comments! Bill, I don't use a tripod...it's taken me some time to get better at holding that 300 mm lens more steady, plus the anti-shake feature helps. Hmm, and tons of practice and determination, ha!
