I'm really Jones-ing for another visit to Custer State Park, which I plan to do tomorrow. Gotta see the eye doc today...in the meantime here's a couple 'fly photos I hadn't shared...
This comma butterfly (hoary comma?) is on Canada thistle. The butterflies were really out and about that day. E Hills area last week.
The wing shape on the commas is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful photo with all those golden butterflies at the puddle.

You do have a special "feel" for all God's critters and forms. We all learn by what you capture with a digital camera and then tell us facts about each in detail. Thank you for sharing and thank you for being YOU!! :)
ReplyDeleteThe day we were all in Spearfish Canyon there were some tiny blue butterflies doing the same thing in a muddy spot along the creek. That's a neat picture.

ReplyDeleteI really love the photo of the "comma butterfly"...it has never turned up in my yard...wish it would...it's beautiful Jann.
ReplyDeleteThe group of sulfurs is special too!
That's a nice shot of the comma, and I especially enjoyed the sulfurs, a species I don't get to see here.
ReplyDeleteThe comma is a beauty, as are the sulfurs. I used to see sulfurs cluster here, but haven't in a while.
