Swainson's Hawk
There were several hawks floating over the open fields along Highway 44 on Tues., as I made my way to the Badlands. Breakfast time. I managed to get this one shot of a nearby Swainson's hawk, with the 300 mm lens this time!
Absolutely beautiful..what a neat capture..I've never seen a swainson hawk but he is on my list..we are going to a mtn on Tues of next week to watch the hawks who are now migrating..quite a venture and a day of fun...love your blog..such neat creatures and you capture them so well!!

Beautiful bird and great shots of it! That's my favorite hawk. I once raised one that had been orphaned.
